Gertrudis was born on November 15th, 1740 in Maasniel.

  Geboren in Maasniel. Doopgetuigen Mattias Thijssen en Catharina Janssen. 

Gertrudis' father was Mattias Janssen and her mother was Joanna Thomassen.  Her maternal grandparents were Geerken Thomassen and Margaretha van Neel. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Joannes, Gerardus, Franciscus, Joannes, Gerardus, Margaretha, Margaretha, Hendrina and Joanna.  She was the fifth oldest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 54 on July 5th, 1795.
